Apartment Story: My Favourite Nooks & Crannies
So for those of you who don't know, I am currently living in the sweetest little studio apartment above a storefront. It's an old building, so it has it's quirks (mice and old pipes, to name a few), but it is also abundant in charm and opportunity. It recently occurred to me that while I love living here and making this tiny space my own, I probably won't live here forever. It's a wonderful chapter in my life though, and I wanted to always remember my time living here. So for those reasons, I thought I'd do a bit of a tour of my favourite aspects of my apartment. I chose five to start with, but I'd love to make this an ongoing series and do more in the future.
1. My desk.
I used to use this space for sewing, but now I use it almost exclusively for school work (since school has now taken over most of my free time). I love the old lamp that I inherited from my grandma (though my mom is certain it's a fire hazard), and the chair I found on the street for $5. I plan to reupholster it for one of my next projects.
2. Book Corner
This is where I keep my books and knick knacks, but also where I usually do my makeup as it has natural light. I love this mirror so much. I got it for pocket change at the Salvation Army and painted it off-white (it was a dark wood).

3. Bathroom Wall
My bathroom is a bit of a challenge. The paint is old and dirty, and the appliances lean a bit on the ugly/rusty side (old building, remember). But this one wall with a view out into my kitchen and out the window brightens my day. That's my birthday calendar you see hanging on the right.
4. My Bed
I have a loft bed, which I am crazy about. I only recently got new fairy lights to adorn the ladder with (my old ones burnt out), and it has made all the difference.

5. Coffee Table
This is actually my parents old chest, and I'm under strict instructions to give it back when I move from here, so I try not to get too attached to it, but man so I love the look of this wood! The metal basket I found at Dollarama, and it's great for keeping all my candles/clutter in. The chest itself is also an amazing storage piece for blankets and quilts.
I'm always working on DIY-ing and re-organizing this sweet little apartment, so I'm sure I'll be doing another one of these tours soon! I hope you liked this little peak and stay tuned for more.
