Apartment Story: DIY Corkboard

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share something with you that's a little different from my regular fashion posts. Yesterday I made a corkboard for my kitchen! I have this one ugly space on the wall where previous tenants left holes and plaster. I also have an issue with having papers constantly lying around my apartment. So I decided to tackle both of these issues with one simple solution! Behold the before and after:

I started with two pieces of corkboard and various types of  ribbon I have in my sewing box. I used liquid stitch and mounting tape to attach the ribbon to the corkboard, and then the corkboard to the wall. I chose liquid stitch because I find hot glue doesn't affix properly to all surfaces, and I didn't want to take the risk of anything falling down.

All in all the project only cost me $4, because I already had the ribbon and the glue. Yay for cheap projects!
